ASENSE awarded the IEEC engineering competition for the development of payloads for Earth observation satellites

ASENSE has been selected as the awarded company for one of the projects in the engineering competition for the development of payloads for Earth observation satellites, under reference IEEC/174/2024.

The call, driven by the Generalitat de Catalunya and coordinated by the Institut d’Estudis Espacials de Catalunya (IEEC) within the framework of the Catalunya Espai 2030 Strategy, aims to strengthen the Catalan space technology ecosystem by fostering innovation and competitiveness in the development of payloads for small satellites, as well as facilitating their future commercialisation. The initiative is part of the ESA Phi-Lab Spain programme, focused on advancing space technologies for climate resilience.

OTTER: Observació Tèrmica Terrestre – Espacial Remota

Under this award, ASENSE will develop the OTTER project (Observació Tèrmica Terrestre – Espacial Remota), a payload designed for future Earth observation missions, with the participation of COMPOXI and SPASCAT.

Being selected by the IEEC, a leading institution in the Catalan and European space sector, is a recognition of ASENSE’s technical expertise in the design and development of advanced optical systems for space applications.
