{"id":13048,"date":"2020-09-13T08:56:33","date_gmt":"2020-09-13T06:56:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.aseoptics.com\/synchrotron-target-design-and-development\/"},"modified":"2025-12-11T17:16:57","modified_gmt":"2025-12-11T16:16:57","slug":"synchrotron-target-design-and-development","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.asensenova.com\/en\/synchrotron-target-design-and-development\/","title":{"rendered":"Synchrotron target design and development"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Dise\u00f1o y desarrollo de objetivos<\/h1>\n<h2>Optical and optomechanical design, assembly and validation<\/h2>\n<p>The ESRF (<strong><a style=\"color: #993300;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.esrf.eu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">European Synchrotron Radiation Facility<\/a><\/strong>) contracted ASENSE Europe for the design, development and manufacture of three unique, custom-made lenses to integrate into its synchrotron beamlines for its research.<\/p>\n<p>ASENSE designed and manufactured three different objectives: 0.5X, 400mm and 150mm.<\/p>\n<p><strong>From concept design to manufacturing<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>ASENSE&#8217;s work began with an initial feasibility study of the systems. From this study, our experts in optical design <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aseoptics.com\/sistemas-opticos\/diseno-optico\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>optical design<\/strong><\/a> designed and developed each of the targets required by the Synchrotron, including all critical phases for the success of the project: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Optical tolerance analysis.<\/li>\n<li>Opto-mechanical design<\/li>\n<li>Custom manufacturing of lenses, barrels and other opto-mechanical components.<\/li>\n<li>System assembly and validation of the parameters required by the client.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>During the design phase, materials were carefully selected to meet all requirements. For the validation phase, ASENSE designed and assembled its own MTF bench, tailor-made for each target, to ensure maximum accuracy in quality testing. <\/p>\n<p><strong>The results &#8211; customer satisfaction<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The results were a complete success. The custom-made lenses delivered exceeded the ESRF&#8217;s expectations, and months later they sent us images of the results obtained thanks to the lenses we designed and manufactured.
