ASENSE is a dynamic company based in Barcelona, focused on the development of custom optics and integrated optical systems. We currently have a vacancy for an operations manager to complement our existing team. The successful candidate will participate in a wide variety of projects covering fields as diverse as medicine, science and defence, all with a common theme: light. ASENSE covers projects ranging from the design and construction of custom lens optical systems to fully integrated optical systems, such as OCT or laser optical radar. ASENSE also participates in funded R&D projects, such as those available through the CDTI or Horizon Europe.

ASENSE is currently increasing its production capacity, and we are therefore seeking an experienced operations manager to manage the production team, troubleshoot issues, and control processes. This position will involve close collaboration with the engineering team to ensure efficient integration during the transition to product production.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that products are manufactured in accordance with quality standards, deadlines, and technical specifications.
• Coordinate the assignment of daily tasks and monitor the progress of each operator.
• Optimise workshop resources and layout to improve operational efficiency and reduce downtime.
• Ensure compliance with industrial safety, environmental protection and other applicable regulations.
• Identify operational and technical problems in the production process and propose effective solutions.
• Improve operational processes by implementing continuous improvement methods and techniques.
• Coordinate with different areas of the company to ensure effective control of the supply chain.

Requirements

• Studies in electronics, mechanics, optical engineering or similar
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in similar positions, preferably in a factory.
• Experience in assembly, production and quality control processes
• Having led work teams, managing tasks, production, and carrying out planning.
• Solid knowledge of electronic, mechanical, or optronic system production processes.
• Ability to plan and coordinate workloads, manage time and optimise resources.
• Effective communication and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
