ECOSWIR

Promoting the semiconductor value chain in Spain through research into components for a 3D system based on SWIR imaging.

In September 2023, the PERTE CHIP grant was announced, with the main objective of researching and developing semiconductor component technologies for a three-dimensional SWIR imaging system that could enter the automotive market in large volumes.

The ECOSWIR project, in consortium with Monocrom, QURV, and ASE Optics Europe, in collaboration with various centers such as Gradiant, CVC (Computer Vision Center), and the University of Valladolid.

The project’s primary objectives will establish the manufacturing capability for high-power, high-repetition-rate nanosecond pulsed diode lasers combined with QD array detectors with nanosecond detection times, and ASE-designed optics to enable a gated imaging system.

The project focuses on increasing the manufacturing capacity of pulsed diode bars and QD CMOS sensors and developing AI-assisted online inspection systems.
